बता दें कि पाकिस्तान और न्यूजीलैंड से हारने के बाद टीम इंडिया का सेमीफाइनल का सफर कठिन हो गया है। न्यूजीलैंड एक जीत और एक हार के साथ अंक तालिका में बनी हुई है। उनके लिए एक और हार उन्हें खतरे में डाल सकती है। हालांकि उनका मुकाबला अफगानिस्तान, स्कॉटलैंड और नामीबिया टीम के साथ है जोकि इतनी मजबूत नहीं है। न्यूजीलैंड ने अगर अपने सभी मुकाबले जीत लिए तो भारत विश्व कप से बाहर हो जाएगा। न्यूजीलैंड की मौजूदा फार्म को देखते हुए वह हारती हुई लग नहीं रही है।
